According to findings we gathered from a recent survey, most of us best spend our free time with eyes glued to the TV screen or ears practically tied to the radio. In Uganda and Somaliland, music is a favourite pastime activity for 7 in 10 people – some even call past time 'music time'! No other country in Africa can match up. And when it comes to watching TV, our brothers and sisters in Uganda and Somalia still lead the pack! This is despite Uganda having only 3 free to view TV stations compared to Kenya’s 6. Data is sourced from Maisha a Pan-African lifestyle study conducted by Consumer Insight in the commercial capitals of more than 14 African countries. |

If a law outlawing TV broadcasts were to be passed only 28% of Ghanaians would take to the streets waving placards demanding entertainment from the love of their lives. The number of demonstrators would be higher in Nigeria (41%), Tanzania (46%), Mozambique (50%) Somaliland (74%), and Angola (76%). | ||||
