Best of Both Worlds

Kenyan youth want to have it all when it comes to mobile network operators as shown by Consumer Insight’s Holla Report.

Specifically, 33% of youth admit to owning more than one SIM card, with college-graduates and those belonging to a higher socio-economic class being more likely to own several SIM cards. Expectedly, 98% of those with multi-SIMs own a Safaricom line. All this goes to show that youth have no qualms killing two birds with one phone.

 About Holla
This article is condensed from Holla, Consumer Insight's biennial youth study that documents the changing trends of the youth of East Africa.  Using a sample of 1,200 youths per country, the study uses a structured questionnaire to talk to male and female youth aged 7 to 24, living in urban and peri-urban areas and collects data on their lifestyle choices, media exposure and usage, and last but not least, product usage habits.
